Unlike shaving and other techniques, waxing removes hair from the root up. The procedure is straightforward, uncomplicated and about as effective as it gets: A special wax is applied to your skin while warm and wet, and it adheres to your hair. To this, a sheet of special paper is applied and the wax is let to cool some, gripping the hairs within it. When settled, the paper and the wax to which it is attached is quickly removed, bringing the unwanted hair out with it.
Since this process pulls hair out from the root, rather than merely cutting the shaft off horizontally at the surface of the skin and leaving roots and hair follicles intact, waxing leaves you hair-free for a lot longer. In fact, most of our patients find that they’re hair-free for 2 to 8 weeks.
