Restylane for Younger Looks
Your smile says a lot about you. You want to present a smile that is engaging and warm. Unfortunately, as you age, the hyaluronic acid (HA) in your skin naturally decreases, leaving wrinkles around your lips. The most prominent wrinkles are called nasolabial folds, located between your nose and the corners of your mouth. Additionally, your lips play a big role in the appearance of your smile. If you are not happy with the lips you were born with or you have noticed decreasing volume as you age, you may want to improve the look and volume of your lips. Our San Diego Restylane injections are also effective in treating the upper portion of the face, where “tear troughs” and other facial areas lose volume and appear hollow as we age.
Resylane Before & After
How does Restylane work?
- Restylane can easily solve all of these facial issues by replacing the HA in your skin.
- The injectable synthetic hyaluronic acid rebuilds the volume in your dermis, making your skin look fresher and younger.
- In fact, Restylane is the longest-lasting HA gel filler on the market, lasting up to 18 months when a follow-up treatment is performed after 6 to 9 months.
- The product is FDA approved to last up to six months when injected into the lips.
- Restylane acts like your body’s own HA, and your treatments will not only look natural, but they will also eventually break down naturally, as it is biocompatible and easily absorbed by natural body processes.
The biggest factor that determines how great of results you will achieve is who you choose to administer the treatments. P. Alexander Ataii, M.D., of Laser Cliniqúe, is undoubtedly the best option for Restylane in the San Diego and La Jolla area. Not only has he received the Patients’ Choice Award seven years in a row, from 2007 through 2014 and has been honored by the National Aesthetic Guide Journal in 2011 when he received an award for the “Best Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Enhancement.” When you go to Laser Cliniqúe you can expect top level aesthetic treatments in an environment that will make you feel relaxed, cared for, and pampered.
How much does Restylane cost?
The cost of a Restylane treatment varies from practitioner to practitioner and from city to city. A wide range of factors will determine the final cost of treatment, though the product itself typically ranges anywhere from approximately $400 to $800 per 1-milliliter syringe. 1ml is the standard dosage for treatment, but, in some cases, we may administer a 0.5-ml syringe for a smaller treatment area, which may cost approximately half that amount. Schedule a consultation for your exact treatment plan and expected cost.
Restylane Family of Products
The Restylane family of products includes Restylane-L, Perlane-L, Restylane and Perlane. All of these products add fullness and youthful volume to the face, reversing moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles. Restylane-L and Restylane are appropriate for lip enhancement. Your doctor will help you decide which Restylane product treatment is right for you when you visit our San Diego clinic.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance in the skin that contributes to elasticity and tissue volume. As we age, genetics and nutrition play a big role in skin quality and elasticity, as well as external factors like pollution and sun exposure, all of which can contribute to the loss of hyaluronic acid in our skin. This leads to lost tissue volume and increased wrinkles and folds that grow more pronounced with time. Restylane is a highly-customizable dermal filler option, with different-sized gel particulates to treat wrinkles and tissue loss issues of varying severity. A suspension of smaller gel units can be used to subtly craft a natural look for minor wrinkles, while higher-volume gel particles can be used to treat deeper folds and creases.
By using hyaluronic acid components that are naturally occurring in the body, and offering a wide range of different formulations, Restylane is particularly effective in providing a natural look, and adjusting to your unique expectations and concerns. It is the perfect option for someone who wants to achieve natural results that are custom-tailored to enhance the facial structure, rather than a uniform, cookie-cutter approach. With over 28 million treatments performed worldwide, the entire line of Restylane products provide proven results to restore, rejuvenate, and enhance facial features despite the ravages of time, for a long-lasting improvement.
Restylane FAQ'sHow much product will I need to get the desired result? Can Restylane cause allergic reactions? Can I use Restylane in other areas of my face? Who performs my Restylane Injections? Is there anyone who should not use Restylane? What should I expect after a Restylane Injection? Who should not get Restylane Injections? What are the benefits of Restylane Injections?
How much product will I need to get the desired result?
For wrinkles and folds like nasolabial folds, the amount injected should be limited to 6.0mL. Typically, P. Alexander Ataii M.D. starts with a small volume and allows the patient to see the progress and filling effect. For lip enhancement, the amount injected should not exceed 1.5 mL per lip.
Can Restylane cause allergic reactions?
Allergic reactions are extremely rare using hyaluronic acid based fillers.
Can I use Restylane in other areas of my face?
The effectiveness and safety of treatment in locations other than lips and nasolabial folds has not yet been confirmed in controlled clinical studies, however other creases and folds may be treated as well.
Who performs my Restylane Injections?
Restylane and the related family of Restylane products are available for use by P. Alexander Ataii M.D. in our San Diego clinic.
Is there anyone who should not use Restylane?
People with previous moderate to severe allergies to gram-positive bacterial microorganisms, or people with allergic reactions to any drug that required in-hospital treatment should not use Restylane. Perlane-L and Restylane-L should be avoided by people with a known allergic reaction to lidocaine.
What should I expect after a Restylane Injection?
Possible reactions include redness, slight swelling, mild pain, tenderness and occasionally injection site bruising. These are typically very mild and last no more than seven days when injected into nasolabial folds and less than two weeks for lip injections. If you have a history of cold sores, an injection in the lip area could trigger an outbreak. Medication such as Valtrex (Valacyclovir) or Acyclovir can be taken prior to your injections and prescribed by your medical doctor. This will reduce your risk of a cold sore breakout.
Who should not get Restylane Injections?
Patients with skin sores at the injection site, rashes, pimples, hives, cysts or other infections should wait until thoroughly healed before treatment begins.
What are the benefits of Restylane Injections?
Restylane, when injected by a trained professional, can reverse the appearance of wrinkles and folds, and enhance your lips. Your skin will look tighter, smoother and younger. Lip injections fill in the tiny lines around your mouth and can make lips look fuller for that appealing slight pout. The amount of fullness should be discussed with your doctor during the consultation so that you get exactly the results you envision.
