Long Lasting Results

Although there are many methods you can use to remove unwanted body hair, most of them are tedious and the hair is only removed for a short period of time. Hair removal processes such as shaving and waxing can leave you with nicks, ingrown hairs and bumps. With the laser hair removal in San Diego that we offer at Laser Cliniqúe, you can eliminate the hassles associated with traditional forms of hair removal and finally achieve long-lasting results.

How does Laser Hair removal work?

Laser hair removal uses the power of a concentrated laser beam that passes through the skin, targeting hair follicles. The pigment within the hair follicle absorbs the light, which causes damage to those follicles. This process slows hair growth, and often prevents hair from growing back in the treated areas.

The laser will only target the hair follicles, and does not cause damage to your skin. To protect your skin and minimize any discomfort of the procedure, we use instruments that feature a cooling device at the tip. The device can also treat numerous hair follicles at once, which can significantly reduce your total treatment time.

Laser Hair FAQ's

What are the advantages of having laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal has longer-lasting results than other temporary hair removal methods such as waxing, shaving, electrolysis, threading, tweezing or plucking. The laser uses a wide tip that treats many hairs at once instead of treating hair-by-hair like tweezing, plucking or electrolysis. Large areas, such as the back or legs, can be treated in a very short period of time. This hair removal treatment is a safe, fast, gentle and effective method for permanent hair reduction.

Is the procedure safe?

The lasers used at this office for laser assisted hair removal are the safest lasers available today. While other lasers are available for this procedure, they all run the risk of side effects because they use the heat from much longer laser pulses to destroy the hair. Because the laser produces light in such short pulses, it destroys the hair through a photomechanical method and does not heat the surrounding skin to the same degree as other lasers. Both the Lightsheer and the Q-Switched Nd Yag laser can easily and safely be used with much less risk of blistering, scarring and changes in pigmentation.

How does Laser Hair removal work?

The laser light, which is directed at the hair, penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the follicle beneath the hair. As the light is absorbed, it is converted to heat, which in-turn produces inflammation – eliminating the hair follicle’s ability to grow new hair. A series of laser hair removal treatments is required to achieve the maximum results.

The treatment produces a slight prickly sensation. Most patients can tolerate the treatment without difficulty. However, since every person’s level of sensitivity is different and treatment areas may vary, your procedure will be tailored for you.

How long does a Laser Hair removal treatment take?

The treatment time depends on size of area(s) you wish to have treated. For example, the underarms may take ten (10) minutes to treat, and the legs may take forty-five (45) minutes to treat. Once we know what areas you want treated we can give you a time estimate, but they are generally very short.

How much does Laser Hair removal cost?

Laser Hair Removal costs vary depending on the area being treated and if the session itself is a one-time treatment or part of a package. Packages reduce costs per session. A face treatment could cost $199, while a four-session treatment package might reduce that to $150/treatment.

How many Laser Hair removal treatments are required?

Typically, six to nine treatments are required. Most patients can discontinue treatments after the sixth appointment, however, an occasional touchup may be needed. You are an individual, and this is only an estimate, and based upon you following the recommended treatment schedule. It is also important to understand that results may vary depending on the individual hair type, certain medications you take, your hormone levels, and issues such as pregnancy and peri-menopause.

How long does it take to recover from Laser Hair removal?

There is NO downtime, although you will need to keep the treated areas out of direct sun after treatment.

The treated areas will redden which is the desired skin reaction. The redness usually subsides within a few minutes to a few hours and returns to normal. You can then reapply your make-up, return to work, and continue with your normal daily activities immediately following treatment.

When can I expect to see results from my Laser Hair removal?

After your initial treatment, you may notice a significant reduction of hair. With each treatment, you will see a difference in the areas being treated. You should notice a significant reduction after your series of treatments have been completed.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated May 20th, 2020

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • 1. We have received clearance from San Diego county and are now open and seeing patients
  • 2. We require any person entering our office to wear a mask or face covering
  • 3. Under federal anti-discrimination laws, we have the right to refuse service to any person for any reason except for race or color

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We have added a new filtration system with bipolar ionization attached to multiple HVAC systems throughout our office and had HEPA filters installed. This filtration system is similar to ones that are in hospital operating rooms. It will create reduced virus zones. We also spray the entire office at night with Electrostatic which generates charged droplets that repel one another and actively seek out environmental surfaces, which they stick to and even wrap around to coat all sides and disinfects bacteria and viruses off any surface within 2 minutes.

If you are sick or mildly sick, please stay home. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, no appetite, shortness of breath, sputum production, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea or body ache please reschedule your appointment. We will reschedule your appointment without penalty or fees after 14 days.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
