Laser and Light-Based Treatments
Today, dermatologists use laser treatments to decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smooth skin’s texture and to create firmer skin. Plus, these types of skin treatments help ramp up collagen to support the skin’s structure. Laser skin treatments can be completed in less than an hour, and there’s no downtime.
Phototherapy is a cutting-edge method in skin care and treats sun damage, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. A topical cold gel is applied and then activated with a specific light source. Intense pulsed light or blue light are the main wavelengths of light that are used. Several treatments are required for noticeable results and should be spaced three to four weeks apart.
Botox injections are the most popular injections to relax wrinkles. It’s injected right into the muscles around the eyes and in between eyebrows. This injectable reduces the muscle activity that’s actually cause wrinkles. Results last from three to four months.
Juvederm is a smooth gel filler that is injected into the dermis. It’s often used for marionette lines and vertical lines between the nose and upper lip. Just one treatment can deliver results that last up to one year. Restylane is another injectable filler that rebuilds volume in the dermis. It’s a long-lasting filler that can provide up to 12 months a natural-looking results. This filler is often used for lateral smile lines and nasolabial folds.
Laser Hair Removal
With laser hair removal, you can get rid of all that unwanted hair. This process uses a concentrated laser that gets within hair follicles and cause damage to the targeted follicles. It slows down the growth of hair and eventually prevent hair from growing back in treated areas. For long-term results, generally six to nine treatments are required.
Chemicals peels can be used to treat sun damage, mild scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. These procedures can be used on the face, neck, chest, hands and legs. A chemical solution exfoliates the skin and actually dissolves damaged tissue along with removing the outer layers of the damaged skin. A revitalize peel is highly popular, as it also increases the production of collagen.
