Correcting volume loss in the Mid Face

Nothing is quite so gratifying for a woman or man wanting to instantly and noticeably look younger than the use of a dermal filler. Dermal fillers have been around since 1981 and are one of the few cosmetic enhancement procedures you can have that produce instantaneous results. Sunken, sagging, and wrinkled skin is immediately eliminated with the injection of a dermal filler, and the results can last from months to years. Using dermal fillers such as our San Diego Juvederm Voluma treatment can produce similar results to a facelift but without the surgery.

Bovine collagen was one of the first FDA approved dermal fillers, however a variety of materials have been subsequently approved for use in facial rejuvenation services such as the ones offered at our office. Different types of fillers are used nowadays, such as Hyaluronic acid, Poly-L-Lactic Acid, and Calcium Hydroxylapatite. Each has its own particular areas of specialty and its own benefits. It is up to the individual and their cosmetic physician to determine the best dermal filler for their beauty needs.

Juvederm Voluma FAQ's

What are the benefits of Juvederm Voluma?

The Juvederm Voluma XC injectable gel is an FDA-approved filler to add an instant volume to all three areas of the cheek, and also smoothes out wrinkles and folds around the mouth area by adding the volume to the upper face. The results of the treatments last for up to 2 years with minimal side effects.

Skin changes over time as the body ages reducing the hyaluronic acid in the skin. This creates visible changes in volume and structure, causing wrinkles and sagging in areas like your cheeks. Juvederm Voluma gel is manufactured using the VYCROSS process to create a product that provides natural, smooth skin in look and feel.

Juvederm XC is also available in two formulas: the Juvederm Ultra XC which provides a versatile agent for contouring and providing volume in wrinkles and folds around the mouth and naso-labial folds, or Juvederm Ultra Plus XC, which is a heavier formula to provide volume and deep wrinkle correction.

Why Juvederm?

This filler is different from the ones currently on the market and offers a remarkable breakthrough for the beauty industry. Formulated with lidocaine to assist in providing a comfortable treatment, Juvederm Voluma XC has been proven to be a safe and effective alternative for persons of any color.

How safe is Juvederm Voluma?

The procedure is quick and safe. It is a non-surgical treatment, so you can make your appointment at any time of the day and continue with your regular routine. The injection process usually takes about 15-30 minutes.

How does Juvederm Voluma work?

The Juvederm Voluma XC is injected under your skin with a gentle massage of the treated areas.

How many treatments do I need?

Your treatment depends on the assessment of the doctor, your medical history and his recommendations.

Are there any side effects?

As with any procedure, there may be some minimal side effects involved that could range from redness to bruising.

How long does Juvederm Voluma last?

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated May 20th, 2020

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • 1. We have received clearance from San Diego county and are now open and seeing patients
  • 2. We require any person entering our office to wear a mask or face covering
  • 3. Under federal anti-discrimination laws, we have the right to refuse service to any person for any reason except for race or color

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We have added a new filtration system with bipolar ionization attached to multiple HVAC systems throughout our office and had HEPA filters installed. This filtration system is similar to ones that are in hospital operating rooms. It will create reduced virus zones. We also spray the entire office at night with Electrostatic which generates charged droplets that repel one another and actively seek out environmental surfaces, which they stick to and even wrap around to coat all sides and disinfects bacteria and viruses off any surface within 2 minutes.

If you are sick or mildly sick, please stay home. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, no appetite, shortness of breath, sputum production, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea or body ache please reschedule your appointment. We will reschedule your appointment without penalty or fees after 14 days.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

  • Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.
  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • As we are an accredited medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
