Although there are many methods for removing unwanted body hair, most of them are tedious, time-consuming, and even painful — with only short-term results. Laser hair removal offers an excellent alternative to these methods.
Recovery and results
There are typically very few side effects from laser hair removal. You may notice redness and slight swelling at the treatment site, but this usually subsides within 1-2 days. In the meantime, aloe vera can be used on any areas that may feel hot. After your first laser hair removal treatment, you may notice a considerable reduction of hair in the lasered area. You will see more and more of a difference with each session you complete. For the best results and smoothest recovery, avoid the following:
- Puncturing the skin in any way
- Removing any hairs in the treated area
- Activities that may make you sweat for 24 hours
- Hot water for at least 24-48 hours
- Makeup or perfume near the lasered area for 24-48 hours
- UV exposure for one week
- Any type of skin treatments in the lasered area for two weeks
