If you are fed up with plucking, waxing, and shaving to remove unwanted body hair, there is a better solution; laser hair removal. This is an extremely safe and effective way to remove unwanted hair, in fact, at the Laser Clinique, we have provided over 50,000 laser hair removal treatments in the past 8 years.

Is it Permanent?

Laser hair removal produces effective results on both women and men. This type of procedure has a wide range of benefits; including being virtually painless, almost any area of the body can be treated, fast results and it is extremely cost-effective. Although it is not guaranteed that the hair will be permanently gone, the majority of people report the hair doesn’t grow back or if it does, it is very fine hair. During the procedure, light beams are concentrated on the hair follicles of the treatment area, which absorbs the light and destroys the hair growth. The amount of time before the hair is completely destroyed varies from person to person, but many people begin to notice a change in hair growth after only a few treatments.

Ideal Candidates

This procedure can typically be used for anyone, but there are certain characteristics which may make the procedure more effective including:
•    People with dark hair and light skin are the ideal candidate
•    Blondes and redheads may require a specialized type of laser
•    People with tans or dark skin may not be a candidate

The laser light seeks out the melanin in the skin and hair, which is why darker hairs typically have the best results.

It is important to be prepared before you arrive at your appointment for laser hair removal. When you contact the Laser Clinique for the appointment, you will be given instructions to help prepare your skin for the procedure. One of the most important things is to avoid the sun and/or a tanning bed for about six weeks before the appointment. You should not wax or tweeze the area being treated as it can disturb the hair follicles that you want to be removed with the laser.
