Restylane Injections – Benefits, Cost & Side Effects
What is Restylane?
As you age, you lose the vital compound called hyaluronic acid (HA) in your skin. This contributes to aging and wrinkles on the skin. Restylane is a compound that replaces hyaluronic acid making your skin looking healthier, firmer, and younger.
Where Restylane can be used?
Restylane injections are most used to treat wrinkles around the mouth, called nasolabial folds but also FDA approved to use to plump up the lips. Restylane can also be used to treat wrinkles or depressions under eye hollows and the upper portion of the face called tear troughs.
Recovering after Restylane Treatment
Possible pinpoint bruising can occur with the treatment. You can go about living your normal life but you should avoid overexposure to the sun. If you experience any unmanageable pain you should contact your physician immediately.
Restylane treatments can reduce the presence of folds and wrinkles by 80%. It is important to note that Restylane does wear off and treatment is a temporary solution. Follow-up treatments are recommended every six to nine months.
The Cost of Restylane
As mentioned above, most patients receive treatments about once every six months. The cost depends on the locations of the treatment and the amount of Restylane used. The average cost ranges from $500 to $600 per full syringe of Restylane.
Ask your dermatologist about any questions you may have about Restylane injections. If you can not make a payment all at once, most surgeons offer financing options that can meet your needs.
