Meso-Slim®, patented by Dr. P. Alexander Ataii, is also known as Mesotherapy or Lipodissolve.  It is injection therapy that helps reduce fat and cellulite.  A mixture of fat emulsifying medications are injected into the middle layer of skin (mesoderm) in the area being treated.

How does Meso-Slim® work?

The cocktail of fat emulsifying medications that are used in Meso-Slim® melt the fat beneath the skin and shrink fat cells. As the fat dissolves, it travels through the lymphatics and is excreted by the liver and bowel.

Cellulite is caused by connective tissue bands that hold down the skin, trapping the fat and thereby causing the "dimpling" effect. The medications used in Meso-Slim® can help destroy the connective tissue bands and melt the trapped fat, creating a smooth, dimple-free appearance.

Dr. Ataii uses a very tiny needle to inject the medications into the mesoderm.

Who can have Meso-Slim®?

Adults between the ages of 18 - 65 in good health are candidates for Meso-Slim®.   Patients who are pregnant, breast-feeding, on blood thinners, insulin-dependent diabetics, on medication for heart arrhythmias, have severe heart disease or have cancer are not candidates for Meso-Slim®.

Meso-Slim® for overall weight loss:

Meso-Slim® results are measured in inches.  Because fat is melted under the skin, about one to two pounds of fat is lost per week. The Meso-Slim® treatment can be applied to arms, waist, hips, back, love handles and inner and outer legs, etc. Patients can lose anywhere from 2 to 9 inches.

For Cellulite:

Meso-Slim® is a permanent solution that eliminates dimpled fat under the skin.  Cellulite is an accumulation of fat, fluid, and toxins trapped in a hardened network of connective tissue fibers in the mesoderm layer. The fat cells inflate, causing a rippling and puckering of the skin, commonly referred to as orange peel skin.  Lymphatic and venous circulation is poor in these areas.  Meso-Slim® is used to cause an increase in venous and lymphatic flow, as well as the elimination of fat and dimpling in the area.  A patient's skin appears significantly tighter and smoother after a series of treatments. 

For spot weight reduction:

Meso-Slim® is a painless alternative to liposuction.  Fat and cellulite are eliminated from target sites using the same techniques as above. Unlike liposuction, only the fat (not the fat cells) is removed.  Some patients can lose two to nine inches in their saddle bags, hips, thighs, waist, love handles, back fat and chin when the medicine is placed in those areas.  Meso-Slim® is not used to reduce fatty tumors or breast tissue in women.  Meso-Slim® is not currently FDA approved.
